The Team

 

Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking and Capital Markets businesses.

 

The Role

 

The Director of eFX & Digital leads the strategy, development, and execution of electronic FX (eFX) and digital initiatives, ensuring the delivery of innovative, scalable, and compliant solutions that drive business growth and operational excellence.

 

The successful candidate will have to be a seasoned leader with a technical and engineering mindset.  You will work closely with the GBM FX Desk as well as the COO team and cross functional engineering leaders to develop and implement market leading eFX and Digital solutions for Global Banking and Markets.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Develop and execute the eFX and digital strategy, leveraging both in-house and third-party technology.
  • Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of eFX trading platforms, digital channels, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Drive digital transformation, integrating emerging technologies to improve trading, pricing, and client experience.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams in eFX, digital product management, and technology delivery.
  • Collaborate with business, technology, compliance, and vendor partners to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs for digital initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 10+ years in FX, eFX, or digital product management within financial services.
  • Proven experience with the above technologies and platforms.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Team player, able to efficiently interact with different business and technology groups.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Agile methodologies and digital product lifecycle management.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with cloud computing, APIs, and data analytics in financial services
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting FX and digital trading.
