Purpose

The role contributes to the effective design, execution, and monitoring of control processes within the Global Banking & Markets (GBM) Onboarding team. It is primarily responsible for managing the Onboarding function’s engagement with various testing and audit teams, including 1st Line Testing, Compliance/2nd Line Testing, Internal Audit, and regulatory examinations.


Key responsibilities include proactive coordination with testing teams on schedules and emerging trends, oversight of the testing process, alignment of issue responses, and tracking the completion of issue action plans.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive testing engagement model for GBM Onboarding, covering KYC onboarding, regulatory onboarding, and static data. This includes:
    • Annual planning with testing teams
    • Managing the testing lifecycle
    • Establishing quality standards for issue responses
    • Ensuring visibility and tracking of issue resolution and action plans
  • Maintain consistent standards for issue management across GBM Onboarding, supporting continuous improvement of control processes.
  • Provide strategic coordination and reporting across GBM Onboarding teams to support the successful execution of the Onboarding Sustainment mandate.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank capabilities.
  • Integrate the Bank’s risk appetite and culture into daily decision-making and operational activities.
  • Drive operational excellence in alignment with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring robust business controls to meet compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.
  • Foster a high-performance and inclusive work environment.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Experience in financial services, with a strong preference for direct involvement in issue management tracking and engagement with testing/audit units.
  • Solid understanding of capital markets operations and trade lifecycle, with working knowledge of corporate and investment banking.
  • Familiarity with AML/KYC regulatory standards and onboarding processes across GBM jurisdictions.
  • Strong project coordination and administrative management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Work Arrangement: Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Travel may be required on an exception basis.
