The Senior U.S. Payroll Analyst is responsible for the preparation and balancing of the U.S. Payroll on a semi-monthly basis, supporting payroll processes and audits, responding to employee inquiries, helps identify process gaps, and suggests process improvements. You will also assist with various projects, preparation of tax forms, and other year-end accountabilities. This role partners with several internal and external stakeholders including vendors. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will: 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Prepare and processes all payroll data for the U.S. region in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring the integrity of payroll data. This includes salary adjustments, 401(k) payments, loan payments, benefit premiums, overtime payments, terminations, absences, direct deposits, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, transfers, reversals, etc. Maintains the Long Term Assignment employees and makes the necessary adjustments
  • Responsible for the remittances of the ACH, Taxes, 401(k), ESOP, Cigna Funding, HSA.
  • Oversee and addresses any payroll related problems and resolves them expeditiously.
  • The incumbent is responsible for staying current with federal, state and local legal requirements by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.
  • Verify the Bank's U.S. 401(k) and ESOP programs by ensuring all applications/changes are captured, transferred to the payroll ADP system, and advised to all the administrative parties. Responsible for the timely remittances of funds, to both plan administrators, on a semi-monthly basis. Also responsible for the reconciliation and balancing of payments made to said agencies, loan delinquencies reports, and the forfeiture accounts.
  • Balance and Reconcile the Invoicing and General Ledger Process. Invoices the expenses and liabilities to Bank offices after each pay cycle. Monitors the General on a daily basis to make sure funds are reimbursed timely. Verifies and process the journal entries. Verifies balances on the Trial Balances on a monthly basis.
  • Balance and reconcile all W-2’s to the ADP Payroll System to ensure accuracy.
  • Update and maintain the U.S. Payroll Handbook ensuring all changes are captured.
  • Perform data reconciliations between payroll and other systems, investigating and resolving any discrepancies, and escalates for resolution where appropriate 
  • Assit with year-end activities and processes such as preparing tax slips, annual reconciliations and filings, bonus payments, and working with HR partners to ensure a successful closing
  • Ensure the processing and completion of all payroll data are in compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements 
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Lead by example by being a champion in case management, delivering quality customer service and keeping our employees and client satisfaction top of mind, while delivering on our SLA and commitment to our customers

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resouces, Accounting or Business or related field
  • Certiified Payroll Professional Designation preferred
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a high volume complex payroll environment 
  • Strong knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal Employment Standards legislation
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Organizational structure and complexity
  • Strong knowledge of payroll policies, processes and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with transaction processing and data management
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now
