The Manager, Data & Analytics, Retail Credit Risk, GRM, is responsible for monitoring, conducting analysis and making fact-based recommendations across Unsecured portfolios. The incumbent will support and contribute to the overall success of the team by delivering insightful reporting, data analysis, dashboard creation and addressing ad-hoc data requests. Analytics will include, but not limited to, monthly monitoring of balances, delinquency, losses, and other credit quality. This role requires business knowledge combined with data mining, and visual data analytics to improve data availability and BI capabilities that will enhance the decision-making process. The role is highly technical and requires expert SAS, SQL, data analytics and BI tools skills.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Accountability 1: Portfolio Tracking & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain monthly / quarterly reports and dashboards using a variety of analytical and reporting tools (SAS, SQL, Excel, and Power BI).
  • Provide dynamic reporting on key performance metrics to various stakeholders in GRM and business lines.
  • Enhance the existing dashboards with AI capabilities to uncover key influencers and drivers within data.
  • Respond to adhoc requests from executives and key stakeholders with a sense of urgency.
  • Perform required data pulls, reconciliations to answer questions. Prioritization and multi-tasking are required.
  • Provide actionable insights and meaningful messages from the reporting to drive credit risk decisions. Able to tell a story by synthesizing vast amounts of data into coherent messages.

 

Accountability 2: Risk Analytics

  • Identification of portfolio trends and key statistics using advanced analytics; Effective and timely communication of strategic and operational results to the business teams.
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Review data to ensure its integrity for data analysis to deliver business insights and validate hypotheses.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships / partnerships with key stakeholders including analytics functional teams across the organization.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, and AML/ATF risk.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, Commerce, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, and/or data engineering
  • Proficiency utilizing a variety of analytical tools including SAS, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, dBeaver, Excel and a solid knowledge and understanding of advanced analytical concepts and methodologies.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
  • Must be creative, self-starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent analytical skills
  • The incumbent must have a good knowledge of the bank’s lending products, including Credit Cards, Line of Credits, Mortgages, and Auto Loans, and should have familiarity with the Bank’s Risk Management activities.
  • A proven ability to extract and interpret data; transform it into meaningful and actionable business insights effectively and accurately.
  • Should have excellent verbal and written communication, effectively convey ideas verbally, have clear written communication especially when responding to non-technical / business team members.
  • Strong analytical, project management, people management and relationship building skills.
  • A strong sense of urgency and a proven ability to understand, and effectively assess multiple, ongoing requests.
