This role is hybrid out of Vancouver, BC

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic QA Automation Engineer to join our Vancouver-based team. This hybrid role combines the benefits of team collaboration in the office with the flexibility of remote work, promoting a healthy work/life balance. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to automated test development for a proprietary data warehouse, the cornerstone of our cutting-edge data security platform.

Essential Functions:

  • Review requirements and specs, and communicate with stakeholders to have a deep understanding of the new and existing features; provide estimation for QA testing
  • Identify opportunities and create plans to translate high-value manual tests into automated test suites
  • Investigate and report bugs in the tracking system
  • Analyze current test coverage to assess for and mitigate gaps. Take ownership to design and implement a solution for improved coverage
  • Collaborate with QA Tech Lead and contribute to standardizing the QA framework
  • Collaborate with developers to provide ideas, feedback and suggestions for improvement
  • Proactively document and share knowledge about automation best practices, methods and tools
  • Collaborate with the QA Team responsible for system-level testing

Minimum Requirements

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
  • Design detailed test plans for new features and write automated tests, with goal of full automation where possible
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience with scripting languages (preferably Bash and Python)
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, validation and verification processes
  • Experience with GitHub Action

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NoSQL database and/or data warehouse internals
  • Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g. Docker)
  • Exposure to cloud-based systems (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC) 88,613.33 - 154,981.67 CAD Annual
