Junior Systems Engineer - JSS
Position Summary
The Department of National Defence has a requirement for Joint Support Ships, which are the replacement Vessels for HMCS PROTECTEUR and HMCS PRESERVER. The principal role of the JSS is to provide support to deployed naval forces in the form of fuel, ammunition, provisions and other materiel. This facilitates longer periods at sea in distant waters without reliance on other States’ support. The JSS will also provide limited sealift, and support to operations ashore capabilities. Vancouver Shipyards Co. Ltd. (VSY) is the Prime Contractor for these non-combatant classes of ships being built on the West Coast and as such has entered into contracts with Canada. Thales Canada, Defence & Security has been subcontracted by VSY with the role of the Electronic Systems Integrator (ESI) for all of the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) non-combatant shipbuilding projects awarded to VSY
Thales Canada is looking for people interested in directly contributing to commissioning activities for the JSS program. The Naval System’s Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that designs, develops and tests Electronic systems for the JSS program. The work will involve updating/creating Engineering work products and participating in commissioning activities. Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts and practices is beneficial. A demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and processes is considered an asset.

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between
