Responsibilities

What you will be doing…

The Program Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the CUBE innovation space. Reporting to the Principal and taking functional direction from the Program Coordinator for the CUBE, you will:

  • Provide thorough training, cleaning, and maintenance of CUBE space equipment, and maintain a safe work environment in all areas where students, staff, and the community are working.
  • Maintain inventory control for CUBE supplies and ensure timely ordering of materials to meet curriculum requirements.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance procedures are carried out on equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality control requirements by following safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in preparing and delivering workshops and CUBE site programming.
  • Maintain professional and courteous relationships with all staff and provide effective customer service for all users of the CUBE space.
  • Travel is required (Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne).
  • Flexible hours (weekends and/or evenings) may be required.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification is a relevant post-secondary diploma or certification in IT, business, and/or technology.
  • Training in WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, Standard First Aid, CPR, and discipline-relevant safety training, or willingness to obtain.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in an innovative and entrepreneurial setting.
  • Experience with 3D printers and basic programming is considered an asset.
  • You are familiar with computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, email, and design software applications.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; committed to acquiring knowledge about advancing technology and using it to enhance your work.
  • A Valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting or providing service to students and prospective students is considered an asset.
