Location: Hybrid in Etobicoke - 2 to 3 days at the office

We are excited to partner with a leading Canadian technology company based in Toronto to hire an experienced Senior Accounting Manager for a 9-month contract. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting leader who thrives in both strategic and hands-on environments, with a focus on improving processes and strengthening financial operations.

You’ll play a key role in identifying gaps, driving process efficiency, and overseeing financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings a balance of analytical depth, leadership experience, and a proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting activities for timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
• Oversee and review balance sheet and profit and loss ownership.
• Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within accounting functions.
• Collaborate with an on-site technical specialist to design and implement automation and process streamlining initiatives.
• Supervise and mentor an accounting team fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting policies align with corporate and IFRS standards.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and technology teams to support data accuracy and system enhancements.
• Provide hands-on support with day-to-day financial activities when required to meet reporting timelines.

Qualifications

• CPA designation, or international equivalent.
• Management experience within finance or accounting functions.
• Strong command of balance sheet management, P&L ownership, and financial analysis.
• Demonstrated experience leading process improvement or system streamlining initiatives.
• In-depth understanding of IFRS.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
• Previous exposure to the SaaS industry or technology-driven organizations (asset).
