Altis is excited to partner with an Ontario Provincial Organization in the energy sector to recruit a Senior Analyst, Regulatory Audit & Data Analytics on a permanent basis. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct investigations and complex analyses in accordance with legislation, regulations, and internal policies.

• Monitor, evaluate, and analyze market performance and participant conduct to identify anomalies, inefficiencies, or structural flaws.

• Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports with actionable recommendations for remedial actions and market design improvements.

• Contribute to public reports of the MSP and provide expert advice to stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain indices, data queries, and visualizations to support market monitoring.

• Develop and deliver internal and external training on compliance and market practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals while safeguarding data confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline.

• 8–10 years of experience in market monitoring, economic analysis, or compliance.

• Strong understanding of electricity markets, including generation, transmission, and market rules (Ontario experience preferred).

• Expertise in statistical, econometric, or advanced analytical techniques, including game theory and strategic behavior analysis.

• Experience with investigations, audits, or dispute resolution processes.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams across law, engineering, economics, and public policy.

Preferred:

• Record of publishing in academic or industry journals.

• Experience in market power studies, power system modeling, and assessing market inefficiencies in deregulated energy markets.
