Type: 6-month contract
Location: 4 days onsite - North of Downtown Toronto

We’re partnering with a large publicly listed energy organization with a global presence to hire an Accounting Analyst to join their team on a contractual basis.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial processes. You’ll play a key role in preparing accurate financial statements, conducting variance analysis, and ensuring timely internal reporting that supports critical business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities within 4 business days, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements and internal management reports in compliance with company standards and accounting principles.
  • Perform variance analysis, identifying key drivers and trends to support business performance discussions.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and tracking of operational metrics to ensure timely and reliable financial insights.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for both internal and external audit requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, month-ends and variance analysis.
  • Prior experience in a capital-intensive industry such as energy, utilities or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Workday Adaptive (asset).
  • CPA designation in progress or equivalent international qualification (asset).
