We are seeking a seasoned AWS Senior Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience to play a pivotal role in designing, building, and operating modern data infrastructure. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and modern ETL/ELT systems, while ensuring data quality, integrity, and security. You’ll act both as a hands-on technologist and a leader, guiding a team when needed, collaborating across functions, and translating business needs into robust technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reusable data pipelines.
• Architect and implement data migration, warehousing, and ETL/ELT projects.
• Modernize and consolidate legacy ETL tools and systems.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across multiple systems.
• Promote data-driven decision-making and innovation across high-impact initiatives.
• Work with QA to develop test strategies and automated testing scripts.
• Oversee the full data delivery lifecycle—from discovery and analysis to design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Guide data developers and engineers to adopt CI/CD, DevOps practices, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with the Data Quality Assurance Team to uphold rigorous quality standards.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical designs.
• Provide consultation and evaluation of data and software systems.
• Manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Lead, mentor, and support a team when necessary.
• Coordinate with external vendors as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Proven ability to lead a team (when required).
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Python, API development, and Snowflake.
• Deep experience building data pipelines on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong skills in SQL, Shell scripting, and ETL/ELT process design.
• Hands-on experience building, automating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with DBT (or equivalent) for transforming and managing data.
• Solid understanding of data modeling and architecture.
• Comfortable translating business needs into technical design.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, iterative development, PACE).
• AWS services: EC2, S3, ECS, Glue, Kinesis
• DevOps tooling: Git, Docker, Jenkins, Octopus
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform
• Prior experience with data streaming, event-driven architecture, or serverless data processing
