Our client in the financial services industry is looking for a Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives to join their team in Toronto. This position is in office 3-4 days a week. 

This role contributes to the success of credit portfolio management, transformation, and automation initiatives. The position supports the design and execution of transformation programs, ensuring alignment with business strategies, while maintaining compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions to assess current processes and identify inefficiencies.

  • Scope and prioritize opportunities for transformation through process redesign, automation, and AI integration.

  • Evaluate initiatives based on feasibility, alignment, and measurable outcomes.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders

  • Facilitate workshops and forums to secure buy-in and align diverse groups.

  • Build strong partnerships across business and technical teams.

  • Ensure compliance with governance and risk management standards.
  • Use analytics for root cause analysis, performance measurement, and outcome tracking.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 6–7 years of progressive experience in analytics, transformation, or risk management.

  • Strong understanding of credit risk, portfolio management, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Proficiency in data science tools (Python, R, SAS) and BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau).

  • Experience leveraging data, automation, and AI/ML to drive strategic outcomes.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and storytelling skills.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong project and change management capabilities.

  • Financial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.
