Our Federal Government client is actively looking for a senior project manager who can lead projects through development, implementation, and operational startup, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, budget, and performance parameters. A project manager will be needed to support organizational priorities and objectives while ensuring compliance with government standards and directives.
Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee full project lifecycle — manage development, implementation, and operational startup while ensuring delivery within agreed time, cost, and performance parameters.
Define and plan initiatives — establish objectives, budgets, roles, responsibilities, and procedures; prepare documentation and tools to analyze problems and support decision-making.
Provide operational project management — oversee scope, schedule, reporting, risks, issues, change control, and artifact management, while updating strategies and adapting documentation to Agile practices.
Facilitate collaboration and communication — lead sprint ceremonies, engage stakeholders, validate business requirements, and escalate issues or roadblocks as needed.
Deliver outcomes and improvements — conduct option analyses, identify gaps, develop business cases and feasibility studies, manage project documentation in line with governance frameworks, and perform post-project reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
Must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years’ related project management experience within the last 15 years, including developing and managing project artefacts and processes.
Must demonstrate at least 10 years’ experience in the last 15 years as a Project Manager on technology-enabled projects.
Must demonstrate experience leading at least one large technology-enabled project in the last 10 years, defined as:
A project or program lasting more than 12 months.
Supporting an organization of over 200 employees.
Impacting business or services with 20+ external stakeholders.
Must demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience in the last 6 years providing project management support that includes:
Leading projects using an iterative approach.
Managing and facilitating frequent product demonstrations with stakeholders.
Continuously analyzing user feedback and adjusting priorities accordingly.
Must hold a valid project management certification or designation such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent academic qualification (e.g., degree or MBA with a specialization in project management).
Must provide proof of educational completion from a recognized Canadian institution or equivalent recognized by an academic credentials assessment service.

Demonstrate experience within the last 10 years developing and delivering project status updates and performance results reports to internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and senior executives.
Demonstrate professional work experience managing projects following the Treasury Board project management gating process, including deliverables, approvals, and checkpoints, within the last 10 years. C
Demonstrate experience within the last 10 years managing projects that required establishing and negotiating deliverables with multiple working groups or stakeholders. Provide details on project scope, objectives, duration, and responsibilities completed.
Demonstrate at least two years of experience within the last five years managing projects or IT system updates using an iterative approach (e.g., Agile or incremental deployments).
