We need you to complete our team as part of the Training Support Team at Garrison Petawawa to support CH147F Chinook Aircrew training.
Position overview
In this role, the CH-147F Training Specialist (Pilot) will be responsible for providing technical, flight or operational expertise, guidance and oversight as part of Verification and Validation support or as SME (Subject Matter Experts) on a Training Solutions team supporting the Courseware production of a Training Systems program. The successful candidate will join the Training Services team who provide training-focused services to (and located within) 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron (THS) in Petawawa, Ontario.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop the training solution for the Training Systems program
In conjunction with the Instructional System Designer, develop the standardized exemplars for the storyboards and lessons for the programs
Support the courseware development process by ensuring that the content of the courseware is correct in accordance with the training plan, the technical specifications of the training platform and the procedures and checklist
Support the development of performance checks or tests to ensure the content of the questions or activities that must be performed provide a valid means of measuring whether students have acquired the knowledge needed to proceed to the next level or to graduate
Provide first level quality assurance on output from the courseware developer ensuring that it is technically and procedurally correct, properly presented and in accordance with the training plan
Create and maintain verification and validation work and test plans
Review system test plans and create and maintain training and mission scenario test plans
Use aircraft documentation to provide engineering support to software developers during integration activities
Test synthetic training devices to ensure the design and regulatory requirements have been adequately met within budget and schedule constraints as per the department guidelines and project contract
Support the customer during on site acceptance testing activities
Work with marketing to provide input to potential customers (as required) and assist with estimates for bids and proposals
Maintain military and aviation publications
Resolve technical issues in collaboration with CFO Technical Services staff
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Royal Canadian Air Force Pilot or equivalent
Aircrew instructor (course code AIMB) is an asset
Tactical Aviation experience is an asset
Strong computer aptitude and willingness to learn new programs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Excellent working knowledge of English (written and spoken)
Functional ability in French is an asset
Capable of obtaining and maintaining both Controlled Goods Clearance and a Level II NATO Secret security clearance
Permitted to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
Willing to relocate to the area of Petawawa, ON, Canada
Preferred Skills
Experience as a Standard Unit or Central Flying School member.
Qualified Tactics Instructor
Flight or mission simulator experience
