The Fleet Maintenance Planning & Quality Control Branch manages multiple programs within Transit Bus Operations and Maintenance to provide safe, reliable, efficient, timely, and cost-effective transit vehicle Quality Control and Assurance in accordance with federally regulated transit service standards within the city. The work carries a significant responsibility in managing professional, technical, and operational staff engaged in business analytics, budget control, fleet performance and fleet maintenance planning.
You are responsible for managing, evaluating, and improving the branch’s programs, services, projects, and operations in order to support federally regulated transit services within the city, including the development, implementation and evaluation of related policies, guidelines, systems, and processes.
You are responsible for establishing a performance dashboard, a budgeting and expensing tool, and fleet management software. You define and measure success metrics, develop or implement quality control programs while collaborating with safety regulatory team and engineering and monitors change progress. In addition, you are also responsible for overseeing the operational logistics of purchasing and distribution of maintenance parts as well as inventory management of replacement items.

You are also responsible for managing financial and human resources (city outsourcing, maintenance work across the city, towing capacity, purchasing materials from multiple vendors, parts, and materials), and stakeholder and partner relationships.
Completion of a 4-year university degree in business, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another related field
Minimum of 7 years of related experience in business analytics, maintenance and quality assurance in transportation including a minimum of 5 years in the management of human and financial resources preferably within a large, unionized transportation system.
