Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee and manage quality assurance processes during the construction of Oakridge Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing building elements, conducting internal pre-acceptance inspections, resolving deficiencies, and ensuring that all work aligns with project standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. This role requires close collaboration with construction, development and sales teams to uphold the highest quality standards.
This is a contract role expected to run until the end of 2026 with possible extension based on project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular construction site inspections to identify issues early and ensure they are reported and addressed before progressing to the next construction phase.
Develop, issue, and maintain detailed inspection and deficiency reports, tracking resolution progress and ensuring timely corrective actions.
Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to verify compliance with design intent, building codes, and quality standards; flag discrepancies or potential issues.
Identify gaps or ambiguities in tender scope documents and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve these prior to project handover.
Proactively review proposed scope changes or modifications in project scope, assessing potential quality or constructability impacts.
Participate in project postmortems and lessons-learned sessions to identify successful strategies and areas for improvement.
Work closely with the Product, Construction, Development and Sales teams to ensure alignment between construction quality, contract commitment, and quality standards.
Oversee internal pre-acceptance inspections and coordinate deficiency rectification to ensure a defect-free product at handover.
Monitor warranty processes and regulations, ensuring timely resolution of warranty issues and compliance with industry standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on customer care, construction practices, and overall product quality.
Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, deficiencies, resolutions, and warranty-related activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in high- or mid-rise construction, with a focus on quality control and construction supervision.
Strong understanding of building codes, warranty regulations, and industry standards related to residential construction such as BC Residential Construction Performance Guide.
Proficiency in drafting and utilizing reports using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with project management/reporting, and home inspection tools such as Salesforce, Onyx, Procore or similar systems.
Independent, trustworthy, and highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
Passion for construction quality, continuous improvement, and delivering high-value products.
Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings accurately.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in residential or commercial construction with a focus on quality assurance, site inspections, or warranty oversight.
Experience working on high-end or luxury developments is preferred.
The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $140,000 prorated for the duration of the contract.
The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
