The Lead, Provincial Scheduling is responsible for providing oversight of and direction to the Provincial Scheduling Department. Reporting to the Manager, Logistics, Materials Management & Facilities, this position will oversee all processes that relate to provincial scheduling and will be a subject matter expert within multi-stakeholder working groups. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and, in conjunction with other departments within MHNL this position will assure the overall successful operation and configuration of the scheduling software system and projects related to scheduling within the province. This will include application configuration, offering solutions on improving productivity, reviewing, and improving Scheduling processes and in general improving the efficiency and timeliness of the Scheduling Team and their scheduling tasks. This individual acts as the key person to provide system audits, generate reports, analyze data, detect trends, and provide training to users of the scheduling software system.

Professional Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Graduate of a (minimum 2 year) College of Business Administration, Information Technology, or Healthcare Administration.
  • A combination of a proven record as a leader along with knowledge, training and/or experience in scheduling (preferably health care related) or healthcare administration will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Three to five years related leadership experience.
  • Three to five years’ experience in office administration/management including scheduling, and payroll functions; or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized healthcare and / or scheduling environment with a proven ability to develop relationships and communicate with both Management and unionized Staff.
  •  Experience working with scheduling software. Knowledge of payroll practices and processes relating to scheduling.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a hybrid team.

  • Effective listening skills.
  • Strong Organizations and Planning skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating system along with the Microsoft Office software suite.
