The Director, Strategic Projects is part of a high profile and fast-paced team with the mandate to design and implement innovative solutions that drive the transformation of the credit adjudication phase of the client lifecycle for the Business Banking portfolio. 

 

The Director, Strategic Projects will be a strategic thinker, with substantial experience delivering solutions (including AI or advanced analytics solutions) supporting the Business Banking end-to-end client lifecycle . The Director, Strategic Projects will be required to create strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders, interact with various levels of decision makers and lead a cross-functional team to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on-budget and with intended outcomes. 


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
 

  • Become a trusted partner to stakeholders from Banking, Credit Risk, Technology and other functions including Audit, Data & Analytics, Data Governance, Enterprise Reporting, and Finance
  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to complete the initial intake and assessment of new ideas and support the prioritization of the strategic roadmap with a focus on AI and advanced analytics
  • Analyze key business priorities and bring insights to generate actions that create value aligned with strategic objectives
  • Lead sessions with stakeholders and subject matter experts to allow for the formulation of future state processes that resolve current challenges, optimize adjudication flows end to end, and support more robust data analytics
  • Champion project governance by chairing meetings with delegates from various business lines and functions to socialize recommendations
  • Create an environment of transparency and foster accountability with stakeholders to support successful project implementation
  • Direct the documentation or document business requirements
  • Partner with technical experts to identify and deliver optimal solutions
  • Oversee the execution of business acceptance testing and provide recommendation for sign-off
  • Formulate change management strategy and support the finalization of training and communications artifacts and policy updates
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have: 

  • Proven track record leading AI or advanced analytics initiatives and preferably within financial services or other regulated industries
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services with a focus on the Business Banking end-to-end client lifecycle will be an asset
  • Strong business, strategic, critical and analytical thinking, with ability to recommend innovative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the business and functional areas
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and collaboration skills, with ability to interact with all levels of the organization and obtain approvals on recommendations
  • Ability to promptly execute on projects, while at the same time gaining required support to ensure buy-in of change
  • Strong relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint tools
  • Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence (MMAI) or equivalent degree would be an asset
  • Project experience will be an asset
