The Manager, Retail Savings contributes to the overall success of the Retail Deposits & Investments department in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:  

  • Lead design and delivery of Savings projects and initiatives in close collaboration with partners (Retail Customer Growth, technology, digital, marketing, legal, compliance, analytics, finance, etc.) 

  • Work closely with partners to develop business cases and review/validate financial calculations/estimations 

  • Analyze performance and develop an action plan to address tactical opportunities 

  • Review competitive landscape to assess Scotiabank’s positioning in features, pricing, and design – market research & analysis 

  • Support the field escalations and inquiries pertaining to Savings  

  • Resolve issues with partners, including the identifying root causes, develop a resolution plan, and execute the changes needed for Savings products and projects – issue resolution 

  • Act as subject matter expert on the Savings product, systems and processes 

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. – decision taker, authority 

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective area in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment 
     

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have: 

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, analytics or a related field 

  • Multiple years of relevant work experience, preferably in product management, Banking, and/or management consulting 

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to lead, influence, and coordinate sometimes conflicting stakeholders to drive results 

  • Strong financial acumen, analytical and market research skills 

  • Thorough understanding of the business environment, including competitors and channels, particularly when it comes to the Branch 

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel 

  • Curiosity to learn and problem solve 

  • The ability to integrate diverse sources of information into tactical recommendations and plans (i.e. product, channel, marketings and customer)

Working Conditions

  • This role is located in our downtown Toronto, ON office location. Non-standard hours may be required to meet business objectives.
