The mandate of Information Technology Services is to create business value by providing innovative and strategic technology solutions for the business operations of the City of Ottawa. You are responsible for: researching, architecting, designing, developing, customizing, enhancing and/or integrating large-scale applications/solutions for assigned clients in response to new or changing business requirements and/or for assigned projects; maintaining these applications/solutions; and providing client technical support.
In addition to core responsibilities, a comprehensive understanding of enterprise asset management processes is essential. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Maximo/MAS Manage to optimize its performance within our operational framework. You will customize modules and workflows to meet specific business requirements and design automated data mapping processes that ensure seamless data exchange between Maximo/MAS Manage and other enterprise applications. Additionally, you will design, implement, and maintain integrations using both RESTful and SOAP web services, ensuring smooth connectivity with external systems. You will also oversee containerized deployments to support the efficient operation of MAS Manage. You will maintain system observability through logging and monitoring tools (OpenObserve, Grafana, ELK, or similar).
You will be responsible for writing and maintaining systems documentation; ensuring all code is managed appropriately using software configuration management tools such as Git; and following the approved project lifecycle (PLC), as appropriate. A strong background in Git-based version control, DevOps CI/CD practices, and Open Source technologies is essential. You will contribute to and maintain automation scripts, manage deployment pipelines, and collaborate within a version-controlled development environment. Experience with container orchestration platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes is highly desirable, along with familiarity in leveraging Open Source tools to build scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions. You will also ensure solutions are bilingual and comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 AA (WCAG 2.0 AA), mentor and coach other developers, and perform testing on enhancements and new development.
Completion of 3 year university degree or college diploma in information management, information technology, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in applications development and/or integration, including experience writing and supporting applications with databases.
