The Senior Manager, Strategy and Insights contributes to the overall success of Global Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) for Scotiabank’s global enterprise by developing analytics and insights related to third party risk and strategic initiatives.  The Senior Manager will partner with various stakeholders across the third party management lifecycle to develop insights related to third party risk, and influence strategic decision making.  The Senior Manager will be accountable for the evolution of the Global Third Party Risk Management analytics practice, working collaboratively with stakeholders and partners across Scotiabank’s global footprint.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Owns the development of the Global Third Party Risk Management Analytics practice
  • Evaluate and challenge new TPRM initiatives using data and analytics
  • Partners with TPRM stakeholders to execute strategy and building capabilities across TPRM lifecycle using data, systems and tools
  • Identifies tools to improve third party data and risk assessment capabilities
  • Acts with a strong sense of urgency, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment to deliver on insights to support strategic decision making
  • Researches into best practices about third party risk assessments and staying knowledgeable about effective analytical practices
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

·      5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, program management, or consulting

·      University degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.

·      Experience with developing analytics and insights for management decision making

·      Experience with third party risk management preferred

·      Strategic thinking and strategic influencing skills.

·      Sound judgment, learning agility, and a high level of professional and personal integrity

·      Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate with senior/executive management.
