Affordability and Utilities is responsible for leading and coordinating government’s ongoing efforts to make everyday life more affordable, with particular focus on the province’s utilities sector and electricity system. The Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA) has a mandate to educate and mediate for Alberta’s small business, farm, and residential electricity, natural gas and water consumers, and advocate for energy consumers. We educate through a wide range of outreach and engagement activities; advocate by representing the interests of consumers; and mediate disputes between consumers and utility companies. The Ministry for Affordability and Utilities is currently seeking an agile and driven Market Policy Analyst reporting to the Manager, Market Policy & Analysis under the Utilities & Consumer Advocate Branch.
The Market Policy Analyst will work within a team to accomplish the following duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, highly collaborative and organized. The positions demand a high attention to detail, ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple ongoing projects. As an ideal candidate you will use your excellent communication and time management skills to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Your problem solving and systems thinking ability will allow you to find success in this dynamic environment.
