Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Engineering, Procurement & Construction Industry in Calgary, Alberta. Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their design and commissioning team. The Senior Engineer will serve as the discipline lead for electrical engineering across projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing electrical design from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with codes & standards. This individual will also be responsible for technical leadership, project budgeting, field support, and mentoring of junior engineers. A typical day: Lead electrical engineering efforts for water/wastewater treatment and industrial projects, serving as the discipline authority. Develop detailed electrical design documentation (equipment specifications, load lists, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, layouts, etc.). Review and evaluate process and mechanical specifications for electrical content. Prepare budgets, scopes, and staffing plans for electrical components of projects. Perform circuit design, control system analysis, and electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, coordination). Conduct power system modelling using SKM or ETAP. Ensure compliance with Canadian Electrical Code, CSA standards, ABSA requirements, and utility coordination processes. Support construction activities through field inspections and contractor coordination. Mentor junior engineers Successful candidates will have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Alberta 8–15 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial facilities (water treatment, oil & gas, mining, or similar). Proficiency with SKM/ETAP for power system studies and AutoCAD Electrical (preferred). Proven expertise in power distribution design, load control engineering, and field commissioning.
