Salary: From 115000 to 125000
 

We’re excited to be assisting our client in their search for an Indirect Tax Manager to join their team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing indirect tax operations, managing audits, and ensuring compliance while driving process improvements and supporting team development. This is a hybrid role, 4 days a week in office in the GTA.

 

What you’ll do

  • Oversee, review, and assist with the preparation of indirect tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely filing
  • Stay up to date on sales tax changes, analyzing the impact of federal and provincial sales tax rules, rulings, interpretations, and cases, and communicating implications to the business
  • Manage federal and provincial sales tax audits, including participation in negotiations and settlements
  • Train, mentor, and support the development of team members to encourage cross-training, succession, and career growth
  • Assess the tax implications of recurring and unusual transactions with a view to minimizing tax costs for the organization
  • Build relationships and communicate with external stakeholders, including vendors, customers, and government officials
  • Design and improve processes to enhance efficiency, automation, and accuracy in the accounting of commodity taxes

 

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience working in sales tax
  • Completion of an Accounting Designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to propose creative solutions while identifying process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage workloads and projects effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across finance and business teams
