Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Psychologist to provide psychological diagnostic and cognitive assessment services within a correctional health care environment. The role involves assessments, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and contribution to overall offender mental health services.
Provide psychological diagnostic and cognitive assessments, including psychometric testing and clinical interviews.
Prepare detailed psychological reports, including diagnostic impressions, treatment recommendations, and risk assessments.
Deliver services in compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and applicable legislation.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary health teams that may include nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, and other allied professionals.
Participate in case conferences, mental health team meetings, and other consultations as required.
Provide consultation services related to offender grievances and investigations when requested.
Offer telepsychology sessions (virtual services) as well as on-site services when required.
Ensure documentation of all services in compliance with organizational standards.
Communicate assessment findings directly with clients, including delivery of diagnoses where appropriate.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to security protocols.
Provide backup resource coverage when unavailable to ensure continuity of services.
Licensed or registered psychologist authorized for autonomous practice in Ontario.
Minimum of two years’ experience in correctional/forensic psychology or clinical/counseling psychology within the last five years.
At least one year of experience working with complex cases (dual diagnosis, severe personality disorders, neurocognitive deficits, or major mental illness).
Completion of at least ten psychological diagnostic assessments, including cognitive assessments, within the past five years.
Fluency in English, both oral and written.
Must hold (or be eligible for) appropriate security clearance.
