Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Psychologist to provide psychological diagnostic and cognitive assessment services within a correctional health care environment. The role involves assessments, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and contribution to overall offender mental health services.

Tasks

• Provide psychological diagnostic and cognitive assessments, including psychometric testing and clinical interviews.

• Prepare detailed psychological reports, including diagnostic impressions, treatment recommendations, and risk assessments.

• Deliver services in compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and applicable legislation.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health teams that may include nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, and other allied professionals.

• Participate in case conferences, mental health team meetings, and other consultations as required.

• Provide consultation services related to offender grievances and investigations when requested.

• Offer telepsychology sessions (virtual services) as well as on-site services when required.

• Ensure documentation of all services in compliance with organizational standards.

• Communicate assessment findings directly with clients, including delivery of diagnoses where appropriate.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to security protocols.

• Provide backup resource coverage when unavailable to ensure continuity of services.

Qualifications

• Licensed or registered psychologist authorized for autonomous practice in Ontario.

• Minimum of two years’ experience in correctional/forensic psychology or clinical/counseling psychology within the last five years.

• At least one year of experience working with complex cases (dual diagnosis, severe personality disorders, neurocognitive deficits, or major mental illness).

• Completion of at least ten psychological diagnostic assessments, including cognitive assessments, within the past five years.

• Fluency in English, both oral and written.

• Must hold (or be eligible for) appropriate security clearance.
