PURPOSE:

The Director, Project Management Office leads and oversee all Private Banking projects across Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Responsible for implementing a solid framework for efficient and timeline delivery of projects supporting the COO team’s objectives while mitigating operational and financial risks. Leading a team of Senior Project Managers, this role will partner with project owners and stakeholders across the bank to identify project activities, manage stakeholder relationships, oversee project budgets, and activate execution plans. 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Provide project management expertise and direction to support project planning and execution. This includes but is not limited to strategic planning, stakeholder management, establishing project update meetings (e.g., Steerco, OpCo, etc.) identification of critical activities and alignment with any communication and change management plans.
  • Influence and align project outcomes to optimize the benefits and reduce the risks throughout the project.
  • Manage all project controls to ensure effective governance including project documentation.
  • Lead integration of project workstreams, driving alignment across the project team.
  • Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies in consultation with Global Transformation Team senior leadership.
  • Establish and monitor project finances, milestones and provide timely project executive summaries, as well as appropriate internal management reporting, metrics, and key information.

 

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS

We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education: University degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of Project Management
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize a number of concurrent projects
  • Strong influencing and communication skills to influence all levels of the organization
  • Solid leadership skills with an ability to identify challenges, recommend options and solutions within specific timeframes
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly: PowerPoint and Excel
  • Thorough understanding of internal/external Audit/Compliance systems and procedures
  • Ability to manage cross-functional workflows, support strategic objectives and ensure projects are delivered within the approved scope, schedule and budget while minimizing disruption to business partners while mitigating risk
