Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance and IT is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the finance, accounting and IT functions of the company. This role provides strategic financial leadership building and executing a plan to finance, accounting and IT best practices that support the growth of the company. Day to day, this leader will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency leading a team of 5-6 professionals. The position will provide oversight for the selection, implementation, and rollout of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to support the organization’s growth and operational effectiveness in the long term. Finally, the position will develop and implement an IT governance model and oversee IT operations.

You have experience building and establishing the financial reports and statements with commentary for senior management and board of advisors thus building relationships within the company to serve as a partnership function. You have experience working in an owner-managed environment ideally within the manufacturing sector. You have experience building and managing cohesive and high performing accounting teams. You have experience overseeing and managing the IT functions of a small to mid-sized organization.

Ideal Candidate:


    •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field and MBA is an asset
    •  Certifications: CPA designation as a member in good standing
    •  8-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized private sector organization
    •  Knowledge of ASPE, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgets and forecasting and internal controls; knowledge of cost accounting
    •  Experience leading ERP system implementations is an asset as well as working with financial and organization systems including SAGE, ACCPAC, Misys, MS 365 suite
    •  Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a strong asset
