Our client, a public sector organization operating in a highly regulated environment, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their People & Culture team. This role will be instrumental in supporting end-to-end recruitment, developing proactive sourcing strategies, and partnering with leaders to attract and hire top talent. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in full-cycle recruitment within unionized or regulatory settings, combined with a passion for building inclusive and engaging candidate experiences.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the full recruitment cycle from intake meetings through to offer stage for professional and specialized roles.
Partner with hiring managers to define position requirements, develop attraction strategies, and provide advisory support.
Build talent pipelines through proactive sourcing, networking, and community engagement.
Ensure recruitment practices embed principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Coach hiring managers throughout the hiring process to ensure consistency, compliance, and a positive candidate experience.
Support onboarding processes to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for new hires.
Collaborate with People & Culture colleagues to align recruitment efforts with workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
Contribute to employer branding initiatives to strengthen the organization’s visibility in the market.
Track recruitment metrics and continuously improve practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing full-cycle recruitment, ideally in a unionized, public sector, or regulatory environment.
Demonstrated ability to source and attract candidates across diverse talent pools.
Solid understanding of collective agreements, employment legislation, and best practices in recruitment and onboarding.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner with senior leaders.
Proficiency with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and online recruitment tools (e.g., LinkedIn, Glassdoor, social media).
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A collaborative and proactive approach with a strong focus on candidate and stakeholder experience.
