Altis Recruitment

Ottawa, Ontario

Salary: Information unavailable

Our client, a leader in the transportation sector, is seeking a highly detail-oriented and technically capable professional to take ownership of their Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and fleet management systems.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Ottawa (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday), supporting the company’s transition from paper-based processes to fully integrated digital platforms.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing multiple system upgrades, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and driving adoption of new software across operations.

This position goes beyond data entry — it requires someone who can develop, manage, and adapt the systems to business needs, influence process improvements, and support decision-making through accurate data and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between vendors, developers, and internal teams to ensure successful system implementation, integration, and tailoring of software to business needs.
  • Serve as a tester and quality assurance lead for new system functionalities and upgrades.
  • Manage and support ongoing projects.
  • Oversee fleet management operations, including performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, and cost analysis.
  • Organize and maintain parts inventory, working closely with trades, mechanics, and millwrights.
  • Ensure accurate daily, biweekly, and monthly reporting for operational decision-making.
  • Promote and drive user adoption of new software across diverse end-users (operators, mechanics, supervisors).
  • Support system training initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while balancing multiple priorities and projects.
  • Foster strong working relationships across different departments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, inventory management, or related operations.
  • Strong technical aptitude with proven ability to learn, implement, and adapt to multiple software platforms.
  • Experience in system implementation, testing, process improvement, and software adoption.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems (FIIX or similar), supply chain, procurement, shipping, purchasing, and facilities/maintenance operations.
  • Exposure to mechanics, trades, or automotive/fleet operations considered an asset.
  • Understanding of budgeting, purchasing, and costing principles.
  • Highly detail-oriented and process-driven, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to ask smart questions, influence adoption, and gain buy-in from non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, with accountability, initiative, and a proactive approach.
  • Must hold a valid G driver’s license.
