Azure Cloud Migration Specialist
Work Model & Location: Remote, within Canada.
Contract Term: 1 year initial contract, with possible extension
Industry: Our client in the federal government sector

Our client in the federal government sector is seeking an Azure Cloud Migration Specialist to support the urgent migration of a critical legacy application (Fortress) from on-premise infrastructure to Azure. The successful candidate will work alongside internal teams to design, configure, and deploy the new cloud environment, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with government security frameworks.

Must-Have Qualifications

• M1 - Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting and implementing migrations of legacy applications into Azure cloud with clients in a large scale ( > 50k users) Canadian Federal Government department that is geographically dispersed across at least three (3) regions/provinces.

• M2 - Minimum of three (3) years experience within the last five (5) years designing and implementing cloud technologies and solutions including all of the following:

  • Azure Firewall

  • Virtual Networks, Subnets, UDRs

  • NSGs (Network Security Groups)

  • Application Gateways & WAF

  • Azure Key Vaults, Private Endpoints

  • Centralized Logging, Alerting/Monitoring

  • App Services

• M3- Experience in two (2) or more projects in the last four (4) years related to migrating services into an Azure Cloud environment, performing all of the following tasks:

  • Deploying App Gateways via IaC

  • Deploying & Configuring Azure WebApps via IaC

  • Deploying & Configuring Azure SQL Managed Instances via IaC

  • Creating Firewall & NSG Rulesets via IaC

  • Creating Custom Azure Policies

• M4 - Minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last 8 (eight) years in infrastructure as code (IaC) languages, specifically PowerShell, Terraform, and Azure Verified Modules (AVM).

• M5 - Holds at least 3 of 4 Microsoft Azure Certifications:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert

  • DevOps Engineer Expert

  • Azure Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert

Nice-to-Have

• R1- Prior experience in Canadian federal environments involving DND, TBS, or SSC security frameworks

• R2 - Strong documentation and post-migration support skills
  R3 - Bilingual in English and French
