The Team Leader, Contract Financials ensures the accurate processing of financial transactions and provides ongoing support to the Manager, Contract Financials. The incumbent strives to increase the efficiency contract management processes and to strengthen the system of internal financial control by analyzing current practices, formulating improvements and drafting policy changes. The incumbent leads a team of professionals and manages the human resources responsibilities for the team. The incumbent also manages the relationship between the other finance service delivery teams. The incumbent develops creative solutions and ensures the team is focused on collaboration, and quality and timeliness of deliverables.
KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:
Primary
• Audit first and high-risk progress claim payments in accordance with Treasury Board policy
• Analyze, prepare and issue monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting
• Provide customized solutions for the Client-Partners and internal clients
• Resolve payment problems
• Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
• Manage risk and ensure quality standards are met, in line with Corporate and Client-Partner expectations
• Lead and review work of Contract Financials team through sampling of work to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to refine processes for the Contract Financials team
• Develop, implement, and track key performance indicators to evaluate the success or areas of improvement for the Contract Financials team
• Monthly integrity reports validation
• Perform human resources functions (e.g. coach, supervise, mentor, plan and allocate resources, and manage performance)
Other
• Provide guidance and training on financial systems, policies and procedures (e.g. to managers in other departments)
• Participate in policy development and process improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience
• Minimum: college diploma in accounting or related field with five years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
