The Manager Strategic Analytics, will consult and deliver analytical solutions that are key to enabling high-quality, fact-based business decisions in support of Line of Business objectives. Working closely with Sales, Strategy, Finance, and Technology groups, it encompasses the entire spectrum of analytics, from aggregating and transforming application data to presenting insights to developing actionable analytical products. This role analyzes and synthesizes underlying goals behind business intelligence needs and develops recommendations, insights, and reports to leadership. Provides advice on the configuration, functionality, applicability, and usability of data management, data analytics, and data visualization technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Acts as a trusted advisor to our business partners.
Identifies emerging issues & trends to inform decision-making.
Recommends & implements solutions based on analysis of issues & implications for the business.
Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of new analytics & reporting solutions.
Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide subject matter insights and recommendations.
Defines innovative data solutions to loosely defined business problems.
Validates and tests methodologies used in analytics and reporting to assess/address performance and compliance.
Conducts various pre-implementation and post-implementation analyses to estimate/measure analytical business impact (e.g., revenue increase, cost reduction, corporate brand image)
Promotes reporting automation, self-serve analytics consumption, and the culture of analytics-driven decision making.
Monitors and tracks tool performance, user acceptance testing, and addresses any issues.
Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
Builds reports and visualizations to effectively communicate data driven insights to users for a variety of audiences e.g. visualization solutions of data into reports, graphics, dashboards to illustrate facts, trends, and insights.
Documents and maintain operational procedures and processes relating to analytical and reporting processes.
Ensures alignment between stakeholders about business needs and data needs
Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:

Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets including but not limited to SAS, SQL, Power BI, Python, AWS – Nice to have
Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary:
$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
