The Performance Dietitian Coach - CANSOFCOM will coordinate, prepare, and deliver performance nutrition programs and services, deliver workshops on performance and health nutrition topics for members and families, and provide one on one nutritional consultation to military members.
The Performance Dietitian Coach - CANSOFCOM will collaborate with local Base/Wing/Unit B/W/U performance, health, and medical resources and refer clients, as required, and assess and report on body composition, hydration and sweat rates, energy expenditure, and nutritional status of individuals and groups.
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Nutritional Science, Sports Nutrition, Applied Human Nutrition or a related field AND several years of experience in a related field
AND
Registered with the Ontario College of Dietitians or with a provincial regulatory organization and a member of Dietitians of Canada
Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), an asset
International Olympic Committee (IOC), Diploma in Sport Nutrition, an asset
Experience
In working with high-performance and physically demanding environment clients
In delivering performance nutrition-based education sessions
In performance nutrition coaching, education, training and meal planning for individuals
and groups
In addressing client non-evidence-based nutrition beliefs
In evaluating effectiveness of nutrition interventions for performance and injury recovery
In assisting with the development of training courses, workshops, presentations and
specialized clinics
In assisting with applied performance data collection, evaluation, and reporting
In risk management
In communication and marketing
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
