About the Role
Are you passionate about digital transformation and service design? We’re looking for a Digital Analyst to support our department’s digital initiatives and help shape the future of our digital investment roadmap. This role is key to identifying and documenting business requirements, system architecture, and business processes that align with departmental goals and support ongoing system maintenance and enhancements.
You’ll work closely with the Manager of Digital Strategy, cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure digital opportunities are well-documented, strategically prioritized, and effectively delivered.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Intake & Strategy
• Participate in the intake and assessment of digital opportunities to inform a strategic roadmap.
• Collaborate with internal teams and the Ministry of Technology and Innovation to translate business needs into delivery opportunities.
• Maintain and communicate the department’s digital roadmap.
2. Technical Documentation
• Document business requirements for new and existing systems.
• Support development and testing processes with detailed technical documentation.
• Create user-friendly documentation for software projects to facilitate cross-team collaboration.
3. System & Asset Management
• Maintain records of existing digital systems and assets.
• Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to capture conceptual views and system health data.
4. Evaluation & Analytics
• Compile and analyze data to inform iterative improvements and long-term design decisions.
• Develop and apply data analytics methodologies to evaluate service outcomes.
• Report findings to support product team priorities and enhance user experience.
5. Collaboration & Communication
• Daily/weekly interactions with the Manager of Digital Strategy for guidance and supervision.
• Regular engagement with the Director of Digital Transformation for strategic direction.
• Ongoing collaboration with unit and department staff, technical teams, and external stakeholders including post-secondary institutions, learner groups, and industry representatives.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in fields like Business, Administration or Computing science supplemented by a minimum of two years of related progressively responsible experience is required. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one-for-one basis.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
• 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
• 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Qualifications & Skills
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Experience working across complex systems and with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with service design, digital transformation, and system architecture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Edmonton, Alberta, with a standard work week of 36.25 hours, Monday through Friday. Alternate work locations may be considered.
