The Senior Analyst, NAV Solutions and Oversight is responsible for a wide range of fund administration tasks including NAV Oversight review and reconciliation, cash management, performance, and fees calculation. They will also provide support as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in various areas such as relationship management and continuous improvement with Asset Management Operations.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Provide daily NAV oversight for mutual funds, private funds, and ETFs, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected in the NAV performance
  • Prepare, review, and analyze various reconciliations as well as daily NAV price checks and periodic distributions to the Transfer Agency system
  • Manage cash forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity for fund operations
  • Execute overnight cash sweep deposits to optimize cash utilization
  • Review and analyze weekly cash exceptions, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with relevant parties for resolution
  • Ensure all performance calculations are accurate and comply with regulatory requirements and are reasonable against benchmark
  • Calculate series hedging to manage fund exposures and send trade tickets to FX Traders
  • Calculate and review expenses and fees to ensure they are in line with fund agreements
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting internal and external inquiries, investigations, and problem resolutions
  • Support fund administration providers, system providers, and media with accurate and timely information
  • Provide detailed reporting and analytics to SGAM NAV Solutions, portfolio managers, and business partners
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Collaborate effectively to ensure smooth fund operations and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with management to execute Business Continuity Plan (BCP) related activities ensuring readiness for any disruptions
  • Continuously review business operations to identify gaps, minimize risk exposures, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Work closely with management to identify efficiency and new reporting capabilities to embrace continuous improvement initiatives
  • Document new processes and procedures, provide training materials, and conduct walkthroughs of workflows to ensure all team members are up to date

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in business, accounting, finance or equivalent
  • CPA/CFA/PMP designation or active candidacy is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of mutual fund experience is required and 1 year of project management experience is an asset
  • Experience with regulatory reporting requirements in Canadian Mutual Fund Industry such as OSC and IFIC is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in fund accounting systems, as well as knowledge in Bloomberg terminal
  • Strong proficiency in investigation via Trial Balances ledger review as well as transaction review
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork via collaboration and cooperation
  • Strong time management skills, capacity to multi-task and works well under pressure
  • The ability to write Excel macro via VBA is an advantage
  • Database management skills is an advantage
