Summary

Bell is seeking a visionary and dynamic Vice President of Technology Transformation to lead the next chapter of its engineering evolution. This executive role is pivotal in shaping and executing a long-term technology strategy aligned with Bell’s ambitious transformation roadmap. As a key member of the leadership team, the VP will inspire and guide a large, distributed organization of engineering professionals—spanning front-end, back-end, DevOps, SRE, QA, and architecture—while driving innovation, operational excellence, and organizational growth through cutting-edge technologies and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Technology Leadership

  • Define and execute the long-term engineering vision and strategy in alignment with Bell transformation roadmap.
  • Lead and inspire a large, distributed organization of engineering teams across front-end, back-end, DevOps, SRE, QA, and architecture.
  • Serve as a key member of the transformation team, collaborating with Product, Content, Data, and Marketing executives to drive innovation and growth.

 

Engineering Operations & Delivery Excellence

  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including CI/CD, test automation, observability, and incident response.
  • Drive operational excellence through KPIs such as uptime, latency, deployment frequency, and MTTR.
  • Manage multi-million-dollar budgets, vendor relationships, and offshore delivery partnerships.

Innovation & Emerging Technologies

  • Champion the adoption of AI/ML for coding, content recommendations, monitoring and predictive analytics.
  • Build new metrics to measure our teams and success (dev, architects, cloud…)
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.

 

People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing leadership bench of Directors, Senior Managers, and Principal Engineers.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion across the engineering organization.
  • Lead workforce planning, succession management, and talent development initiatives.

Critical Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with 7+ years in senior/executive leadership roles.
  • Delivery of large-scale technology
  • Deep expertise in full stack development, cloud infrastructure, and media delivery technologies.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-product portfolios with high availability and performance requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
