As a member of the Global Wealth Engineering Service Reliability monitoring team, the Service Reliability Engineer will work in collaboration with a team that will work with Senior management, peers, and business partners to continuously improve the stability, reliability and efficiency of our Global systems through Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) based principles and practices that will include continuous people, process and technology (automating all the things) enhancements in support of our rapidly changing technology product portfolio. 

You will work cross-functionally amongst a variety of teams and be a contributor in all significant engineering service or solution delivered to the Global Wealth Engineering teams and stakeholders.  You will also have an understanding ‘what could go wrong’, help to solve complex problems and have a flare for communicating and participating in discussions with technical and business partners. You will work directly with our Software Engineering teams to both maintain and operate our existing technology and build our next generation of technologies.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Work in collaboration with Senior Manager, Service Reliability as well as with software development, Quality, Product and Data Engineering teams to Champion SRE/ DevOps culture and practices
  • Design and develop reliability tooling and frameworks to proactively detect, prevent, and remediate application issues.
  • Automate manual processes using Python and other scripting languages to reduce operational risk and accelerate recovery.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to identify patterns and anomalies affecting system performance and availability.
  • Architect and maintain advanced monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk) for real-time visibility.
  • Define, develop, and operationalize Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to enforce reliability standards.
  • Build BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into system health and reliability trends, in depth data-analysis to gauge service trends and drive improvements.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of automated responses, alerts, and reliability tooling to mitigate risks.
  • Enhance infrastructure automation and support CI/CD pipelines across multiple platforms.

 

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, a plus) with strong understanding of SRE and service management principles
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. ITIL Foundation Cert. in ITSM would be an asset
  • 4-7 years’ experience in IT with Experience in at least one high level programing language such as Python.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and SRE principles.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence and machine learning models, experience is a strong asset.
  • Experience in banking/financial tech environment (preferred).
    Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. The ability to communicate confidently and clearly on conference calls, in meetings, via email, etc. at all levels of the organization is essential.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience with data mining, analysis, and reporting (Power BI)
  • Experience with monitoring/observability tooling such as Dynatrace, DataDog, Splunk, AQA, OpenTelemetry, etc.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (GCP/Azure/AWS) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
