The Opportunity:

We're searching for an outstanding User Experience (UX) Strategist who can seek out and understand the goals of both our business and our end users and help us define and plan innovative digital solutions that meet those needs.

As part of our Digital Transformation Office, you’ll work with a cross-functional group of UX professionals dedicated to creating meaningful experiences for people. In this role, you'll be responsible for conducting user research and testing to gain an understanding of user needs, goals, preferences. You'll consult with a wide cross-section of business, UX and development colleagues to understand problems, identify opportunities, and collaborate on solutions. You'll evaluate how well our digital assets are meeting user needs and identify how we can make meaningful changes to optimize experiences for users. Your work will help inform digital product plans and roadmaps.

Your everyday with us will consist of:

  • Collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data related to digital products (interviews, usability tests, surveys, feedback, satisfaction ratings, heatmaps, session recordings, product analytics and more)

  • Conducting workshops, meetings and interviews with stakeholders and users to understand their goals and needs in relation to existing and planned digital experiences.

  • Identifying and documenting user experience pain points and opportunities via heuristic evaluations, user journey maps, competitive analysis and more.

  • Ideating on digital solutions and recommendations on priority, in collaboration with UX teammates and other colleagues.

  • Creating meaningful reports and presentations on research findings, insights and recommendations.

What you need to succeed:

  • Five or more years of experience in related UX or product management work.

  • Post-secondary degree in applicable field (preference for coursework in human factors, HCI, psychology, sociology, research methods or similar fields)

  • Thorough understanding of standard UX principles and methodologies

  • Experience conducting interviews, moderated usability tests and surveys is a must.

  • Experience with other UX research methods and tools including A/B tests, diary studies, user analytics, etc. is an asset.

  • Experience facilitating discussions and workshops

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Well-honed interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills

  • Familiarity with user insights/user testing/CRO platforms is preferred

  • Familiarity with Agile software development & product management practices is preferred

Security Clearance: Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B).  This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
