The operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the MacDonald and Mackay Bridge. This position supports daily bridge operations, coordinates maintenance activities, monitors traffic flow, and liaises with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold HHB’s commitment to safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
Operational Oversight:
Monitor and coordinate day-to-day bridge operations, including traffic management, incident response, and scheduled closures.
Maintenance Coordination:
Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to schedule and track routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades.Communication & Reporting:
Maintain clear and timely communication with HHB staff, contractors, and the public regarding operational updates. Prepare reports on bridge performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all operations adhere to safety protocols and provincial regulations. Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with municipal services, transportation authorities, and community partners to coordinate activities affecting bridge operations.
Technology & Systems:
Utilize monitoring systems, traffic cameras, and operational software to track bridge conditions and support decision-making.
Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.Familiarity with traffic control systems and incident management is an asset.Availability for on-call or shift work, including weekends, weekdays, day and Night shifts and holidays.
