General Description
An established organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join its finance team. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for financial performance reporting, variance analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong understanding of manufacturing finance, and is confident in engaging with stakeholders across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial and accounting records.
Prepare timely month-end financial reports, analysis, and ad hoc value-add projects.
Conduct variance analysis (expenses, labour, COGs, margin) to identify cost drivers and recommend corrective actions.
Assess and improve internal control systems to ensure the integrity of financial reporting data.
Monitor the relevance and efficiency of financial reporting, recommend and implement process improvements.
Support external audits through the preparation of accurate working papers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Completion or in the final stages of an accounting designation program (CPA).
Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting, analysis, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with ERP financial/operational database systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all areas of the organization.
Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities, and committed to accuracy and confidentiality.
