We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our client for a 3-month contract to provide leadership and hands-on support across all areas of Human Resources. This role will oversee recruitment, performance management, job evaluation, benefits administration, and the distribution of HR workload to ensure smooth operations during the contract period. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including creating and posting job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
Ensure smooth onboarding for new hires, including orientation and necessary documentation.
Job Descriptions & Job Evaluation
Review and update job descriptions to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational needs.
Conduct job evaluations and recommend adjustments where necessary.
Performance Management
Support managers in setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing coaching where needed.
Advise on performance improvement plans and employee development strategies.
Benefits Administration
Liaise with the benefits provider to manage enrolments, changes, and inquiries.
Ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
HR Operations & Workload Management
Distribute HR tasks and workload effectively across the HR team.
Ensure HR processes are efficient, compliant, and well-documented.
Employee Relations
Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Address and resolve employee concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; CHRP/CPHR designation an asset.
5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on recruitment, performance management, and benefits administration. Preferably in a HR Manager, HR Consultant or HRBP role.
Strong understanding of Canadian employment laws and HR best practices.
Proven experience in job evaluation and writing job descriptions.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a solutions-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
