We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operational Resilience to support the execution of our Enterprise Operational Resilience Program. This role will focus on designing and delivering resilience implementation activities, leveraging data analytics to measure and monitor vulnerabilities, leading various change management and training work along with identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities where applicable. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in operational resilience within large financial institutions and a proven ability to drive strategic outcomes.

Position Responsibilities:

Program Implementation and Strategy Execution:

  • Support the design and delivery of resilience processes, controls and implementation activities to enhance the organization's operational resilience posture.

  • Maintain and enhance the tools built for completing critical operations & services (COS) assessments; ensure they align with applicable internal policies and standards 

Data Analytics and Risk Monitoring:

  • Leverage data analytics to measure and monitor vulnerabilities in critical operations, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.

  • Develop, implement and monitor Key Performance and Risk Indicators (KPIs/KRIs) to ensure operations remain within impact tolerances.

Change Management and Training:

  • Partner with the Operational Resilience Program Lead to deliver change management efforts and activities to ensure smooth implementation of resilience strategies across the organization.

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to equip employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to support operational resilience initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Partner with segment leads and stakeholders to identify, analyze, and remediate material vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate across business units, technology, operations, and risk partners to ensure cohesive execution of resilience strategies with quality, working along side with Operational Resilience Program Lead.

Process Improvement:

  • Proactively identify and implement any process improvement opportunities to streamline and standardize various deliverables and program tools throughout the life cycle of the program.

  • Leverage technology to implement automation opportunities where possible.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in Insurance, Banking, or Wealth and Asset Management.

  • Demonstrated experience in operational resilience and business continuity risk management within large financial institutions.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.

  • Ability to influence and deliver amidst ambiguity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in designing and delivering training programs and interaction with executives and senior management.

  • Proven leadership experience with ability to work with many different stakeholders or teams.

  • Experience in leveraging technology to automate/streamline operational resilience or business continuity activities.

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
