The Manager, Data and Reporting will collaborate with the Global Risk Management (GRM) Portfolio Monitoring team and its stakeholders to identify and implement the construction and maintenance of specific standardized regional automated reporting solutions. This role requires a project-oriented and attention to detail mindset, as it involves engaging with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable and drive business impact.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain automated regional reports to support GRM LATAM, IB Special Accounts Management, and Wealth Management teams’ Portfolio Monitoring activities.
  • Support the development and execution of strategies aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and quality of reporting for decision-making, portfolio management and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in strengthening the Risk data and Portfolio Monitoring team by benchmarking global standards and promoting standardization across countries.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities by improving analytical programs and migrating reports to common platforms and enabling self-service and ad hoc reports.
  • Collaborate with IB subsidiaries to identify opportunities for automation and digitization in reporting, leveraging expertise from the Toronto office to develop effective solutions.
  • Assist in data gathering and extraction for Quality assurance activities and ad hoc and recurring reporting activities for GRM LATAM.
  • Leverage policies, processes, and technology across the organization to maximize profitability while adhering to the Bank’s strategy and risk appetite.
  • Foster a customer-focused culture within the team to strengthen client and stakeholder relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Create an environment that promotes operational efficiency and effectiveness while adhering to Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles. Ensure compliance with operational, data governance, regulatory, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk requirements.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • A minimum of three years of progressive, relevant experience, preferably within financial institutions.
  • A technical background in mathematics, information technology, or financial engineering is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau is required.
  • Experience with SQL is required.
  • Knowledge of Python (Pandas, NumPy, Seaborn) is required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is considered an asset.
