What you bring
You are a creative visual communicator known for delivering high-quality concepts and designs for a variety of corporate projects. As the internal expert on accessible design, you convert documents and content to accessible formats in line with accessibility guidelines. You collaborate with colleagues across business units, participate in intake meetings, present design concepts, and refine your work based on feedback to meet project goals.
You’re flexible and hands-on—equally comfortable creating eye-catching digital banners as you are handling the nuts and bolts of document layout and production. You’re ready to pitch in wherever needed, whether the task is creative design or essential day-to-day support for communications projects.
Your opportunity and responsibilities
As the sole in-house Graphic Designer, you’ll be the go-to resource for a wide range of graphic needs. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of projects—from designing digital banners, posters and signage to updating web content, you’ll support everything from sizing photographs, preparing logo files, and relaying tables in translated documents, to resizing graphics, and designing new visuals from native files supplied by external agencies. You’ll collaborate with colleagues from across the organization, present your creative ideas, and bring concepts to life while building your expertise in accessible design. Whether you’re brainstorming in creative meetings or supporting day-to-day communications needs, you’ll develop valuable professional skills and see your work make a real impact within a supportive, growth-focused team.

DCC is a Crown corporation of the federal government. Since 1951, we have provided contracting, infrastructure and environmental services to help build and maintain facilities for Canada’s armed forces. Our projects range widely—dockyards and control towers, community centres and accommodation facilities, roads and water systems. To begin a career with Defence Construction Canada (DCC), you must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. As a condition of employment with DCC, a minimum reliability security status clearance is required and some roles may require secret security status clearance.
DCC is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process. Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must have five years of verifiable background information and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must have 10 years of verifiable background information. The process usually involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, and credit checks (as required) and may require fingerprints. The appropriate security clearance is a condition of employment and it is the candidate’s or employee’s responsibility to ensure, they are able to obtain and maintain their required security level clearance to begin or continue their employment with DCC. Failure to obtain or maintain, the appropriate level of security clearance means either the candidate or employee will not receive a job offer, the conditional offer will be rendered null and void or their employment will be terminated with cause.
