Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist to join the health services team at the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton Medical Clinic. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the mental health and operational readiness of Canadian Armed Forces members, while benefiting from a structured and supportive clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psycho-diagnostic assessments with an adult population, including differential diagnosis of complex mental health conditions.
  • Provide professional psychological services for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of psychological, emotional, psychophysiological, and behavioral disorders.
  • Administer and interpret standardized psychometric assessments, and prepare comprehensive psychological evaluation reports.
  • Communicate assessment findings and clinical impressions clearly to the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to integrated care planning.
  • Deliver evidence-based treatment for a range of mental health conditions, using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused interventions.
  • Participate in case reviews as a core member of the interdisciplinary mental health team, offering clinical insight and treatment recommendations.
  • Develop and lead individual and group psychoeducation or therapy sessions, targeting concerns such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and stress management.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and evolution of mental health programming tailored to the needs of Canadian Armed Forces members.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.

To be considered for this position, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from a university accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or the American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Registered and in good standing as a Psychologist, with authorization for autonomous practice by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario

A minimum of 2 years of full-time, post-licensure clinical experience (within the last 5 years), including:

– Conducting psycho-diagnostic assessments with differential diagnoses- Providing evidence-based psychological treatment (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to adults experiencing PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, and other mental health conditions

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Reliability level
  • Current CPR Level C certification with AED, or willingness to obtain prior to employment
