Our client in the healthcare sector is hiring an Information Specialist. This role involves managing patient referrals, coordinating appointments, and supporting daily administrative operations in a fast-paced clinical setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle complex tasks with minimal supervision are essential.
Location: On-site – Toronto
Work model: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (7.5 hours/day)
Contract duration: August 5, 2025 – January 9, 2026
Receive and review patient referrals using standardized criteria
Escalate non-standard referrals for further review
Contact clients on the waitlist as their admission date approaches
Draft and send standardized correspondence (e.g., appointment letters)
Coordinate appointments with internal services and teams
Order and manage medical and office supplies
Support implementation of new administrative systems and processes
Minimum 3–5 years of administrative experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare clinic
Intermediate to senior-level knowledge of medical office procedures
Experience in patient-facing roles within fast-paced healthcare environments
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Prior experience with hospital registration and scheduling systems is an asset
Familiarity with healthcare workflows, ideally within large-scale institutions
