Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for administrative fairness and public service? We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable Appeals Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the appeals process.

Responsible for managing appeal files, including meeting deadlines, preparing packages, drafting correspondence, scheduling hearings, coordinating submissions, and communicating with parties. Complex matters should be escalated to Appeal Leads.

Must manage complex files and interact professionally with individuals who may be distressed. Should remain composed under pressure, recommend improvements, and adapt quickly to legislative or procedural changes.
Systems Thinking:
Should understand the appeals process as essential to upholding Albertans’ rights and public trust. Must identify inefficiencies, ask critical questions, and recognize the impact of delays on individuals and system credibility.
