The Reimbursement Specialist (RS) works directly with patients to secure private or public insurance reimbursement for identified company brands. The RS represents patients with private or public insurers in an effort to optimize drug coverage and works collaboratively with the Health Management and Clinical Support teams to provide optimal patient support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provide direct telephone assistance to patients requiring reimbursement support.

Participate in the completion of paperwork and follow-up on submissions regarding drug reimbursement/coverage through private or public insurers to optimize drug coverage.

Ensure quality assurance with respect to all mandates related to the patient support program

Track and document all case information using the program IT system.

Collaborate with Clinical Support Specialist to provide optimal patient support and communication.

Through patient-oriented solutions, manage challenging patient situations with empathy and patience.

Qualifications

English and French bilingualism required (oral and written).

1-year of experience in drug reimbursement assistance navigation.

Understanding of private and public payer systems.

Ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Computer skills, understanding of multiple software applications (MS Office).

Strong MS Excel skills.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of customers (patients, Healthcare providers, caregivers).

Discretion, maturity, flexibility, sound judgment.

Ability to manage deadlines.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Working Conditions and / or Job Requirements:

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer (finite movements such as typing and other office functions).

Requires mental stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.

Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, including weekends and evenings, to support operations requirements.
