Purpose
As a key member of the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) Business Continuity and Operational Resilience team, the Senior Manager, Operational Resilience Strategy & Analytics plays a critical role in strengthening the bank’s global resilience capabilities. This role focuses on designing and executing scenario-based testing, analyzing operational vulnerabilities, and delivering actionable insights through data and metrics. The successful candidate will also support training initiatives and contribute to incident management efforts across multiple regions.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development and reporting of operational resilience metrics (KPIs and KRIs), ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Design and execute scenario-based tests (e.g., tabletop exercises, simulations, industry-wide tests) to assess critical operations and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze risks, single points of failure, and operational gaps, and develop prioritized remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with internal partners (e.g., Learning & Development, Enterprise Operational Resilience) to support GBM-specific training programs.
  • Support business continuity testing activities, including alternate site readiness, call tree validations, and satellite phone testing.
  • Assist in incident management efforts, including monitoring, escalation, and post-incident reviews to capture lessons learned.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations and alignment with enterprise-wide testing and resilience initiatives.
  • Champion a high-performance and inclusive work environment, aligned with Scotiabank’s values and Code of Conduct.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of business continuity, operational resilience, and incident management.
  • Proven experience in scenario design, testing, and post-mortem analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting; experience with Power BI is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with simulation platforms and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Creative, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset.
