Transportation Engineering Services is responsible for the coordination of technical reviews of road design and development applications with a focus on transportation issues and the overall prioritization, coordination, concept design and implementation of the Network Modification Program, Intersection Control Measures program and the management of Development Review initiated roadway modification applications.
You are responsible for overseeing the review, coordination, and management of traffic and transportation related aspects of road design circulations and land development applications. You are the primary liaison and department expert for the coordination and traffic operations review process for all circulations, including development site plans, subdivision applications, and committee of adjustment and utility circulations.
You also: coordinate the dissemination of design circulations and development applications; review individual responses to ensure adherence to technical, legislated and policy requirements; prepare a consolidated traffic reply; act as the primary liaison with developers, utility companies and internal city departments related to applications and circulations affecting traffic; and are responsible for the application of appropriate geometric design standards to all roadway modifications associated with development applications.
Completion of 4 year university degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of experience in traffic engineering, geometric design and/or or transportation/transit planning, which includes at least 5 years in the review of development applications and circulations or traffic/access management/engineering
